Heavyweight Sustainable Housing Conference – now closed
Heavyweight Sustainable Housing was a great sucess. Comprising of two one day conferences which were held on the 3 December at EMCC, Nottingham and the 8 December at BRE, Watford. The conferences focused on heavyweight materials and design to meet the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes cost effectively.
The conference covered topics including:
- Achieving the higher levels of the Code with concrete and masonry
- Creative energy homes: A research and educational showcase of sustainable housing
- Economically viable design to attain the Code’s higher levels
- BASF – Building a sustainable future, UK house project
- Panel discussion: The design issues of Code level 5 and how to resolve them viably using heavyweight materials
- A2 Dominion’s design case study on level 5 concrete and masonry house
- Overcoming the challenges of meeting the higher levels of the Code
- The UK’s first eco village, Hanham Hall
